How AST Recognizes Contributions

AST evaluates contributions to systems thinking and the systems sciences—never individuals, credentials, or status. The unit of evaluation is the contribution itself.

Submissions are always open and are reviewed in the next scheduled cycle. Selected contributions are recorded in the AST Registry. AST recognition operates at three levels:

  1. Academy Members — field-shaping work
  2. Recognized Contribution — significant contributions that advance systems thinking science or practice
  3. Commendation — spotlighting promising work

AST also awards Honors — exceptional contributions receiving an additional AST honor. Posthumous recognition is permitted. All recognition is honorary and archival and confers no duties, authority, or material benefit. Self-submissions and third-party submissions are accepted.

AST Contribution Nomination
